Tash Tribe — 'Stillness Plum' Vessel

$550
The Stillness series is inspired by the Zen gardens of Kyoto. These vessels hold impermanence, simplicity and the passage of time. This vessel form references the 'mei-ping' also known as the Plum Vessel in Chinese ceramics. Originally designed as a storage bottle for wine, with its broad shoulders and slender base, the form evolved over centuries into a celebrated vessel for displaying flowers and a refined art object. The vessel is hand-coiled with 2 lugs, glazed and finished with black ink rubbed into the crazed glaze. The vessel is water tight so can be used as a functional or sculptural piece.

Tash began her career as an Art Director at VOGUE Australia, and in 1998 she co-founded eskimo; one of Sydney’s most-esteemed creative agencies.

Tash began working in ceramics in 2018 – primarily in stoneware, coupled with a deep passion for creating one-off, hand-built vessels and sculptures. She completed her Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts (Ceramics) in 2024 and Diploma in Ceramics at Northern Beaches TAFE in 2022, receiving the Graduating Diploma student award. Tash was selected as a finalist for the Saint Cloche Little Things Art Prize in 2022 and 2023, and her work has been shown in numerous group exhibitions, most recently at the 2025 ‘A Fresh Perspective’ show at Gallery LNL. Her work has also appeared in BELLE and House & Garden magazines.
