Craft was founded in 1970, at a meeting of artists, curators and writers, and established as a not-for-profit arts organisation dedicated to supporting and celebrating contemporary Australian craft and design. More than 45 years on, we are still committed to supporting local makers through our retail and exhibition spaces, public and professional development programs.
Craft Cubed Festival is Craft's annual celebration of the handmade and the biggest coming together of the craft and design sectors of its kind in Australia.
Now in its eighth year, the 2017 Festival will be centred on the theme of Crafting Communities, aiming to showcase dynamic and creative communities through a multi-layered, open access festival. Through this concept, we will highlight diversity, multi-disciplinary practice, hidden networks and meaningful connections which are forged through contemporary craft.
Craft are seeking expressions of interest from craftspeople and designers to present creative, experimental and ideas-based craft and design projects under the banner of the Craft Cubed Festival.LEARN MORE
