This one off necklace was formed originally with wax from carving as well as a wax relief of a crab shell. Cast in sterling silver the necklace features brown and light pink pearls salvaged from heirloom jewellery and paired with fine trace chain.

Angela Louise Powell goes under the jewellery name Solvere. Solvere in Latin means “a breaking into parts”; to loosen, set free, release, melt reflecting Powell’s haptic style of making and curiosity for material testing. Powell employs processes such as silicone casting of plants, electroforming household and industrial waste products, water and sand based casting of metal and wax to create pieces.
