Nicholas Aylward — 'Square Chair', 2024

$16,000
'Square Chair' continues Aylward's passage of appreciation to the natural surrounds.

Sourced locally in his rural hometown of Corowa as a connective process through father and son. The design and construction process is strictly influenced through the materials voice and response to the hand. As the piece ages and adjusts to conditions, continual movement will occur showing the ever-changing properties of a living piece. Square chair represents a position for the user to love, cherish and nurture with nature.

Nicholas Aylward is a Naarm/Melbourne based designer and maker. With an interest in the manipulation of timber and metal, informed through his rural upbringing in Bangerang country where Nicholas developed his appreciation for the essentialism of the environment.
