Jenny Jones
Jenny Jones — 'Zulu Dance', Rug 2024
Inspired by the distant sounds of the tribal drums resonating through the African night, Zulu conjures up Jenny’s memories of her time in Africa. Layers of tribal motifs and geometric forms work with tonal colour shifts and multiple textures to create a tactile work of art.
Jenny’s tribal designs are inspired by her many travels through Africa, with both the natural world and tribal art reflected in these pieces. Layers of tribal motifs, animal skins and geometric forms create designs rich in texture and interest.

Jenny discovered her passion for the art of rug making in 1995 whilst living in Turkey with her young family. Exploring the famous Turkish rug markets, she began hand selecting pieces to bring into Australia. Growing with the movement towards contemporary interior design, in 2001 Jenny became one of the first rug designers in Australia to create contemporary hand knotted rugs. She has since built her business around creating personal connections with clients to find the perfect rug for every project. Her contemporary works and modern day classics reinterpret traditional designs and bring them into the 21st century with the use of sophisticated colour and the highest quality production techniques. Jenny continues to be driven to create stunning bespoke designs and push boundaries in designs. With over 25 years in the industry, collections in the US and Asia, as well as numerous international awards, she continues to be recognised as one of the best contemporary rug designers in the world.
