Em Frank
Em Frank x Miles Dunne — Bent corro open sky, 2026
"This collaboration is about the excitement we share over moments of material intrigue in day to day life. The way a window throws light across a wall, or the accidental compositions made by patched up pavement. We've developed a habit of sharing photos of eroded surfaces and drains with interesting patterns, and often find ourselves marvelling at the sculptural quality of piles of rubbish."
Both Em and Miles work as artists and artistic labourers, providing fabrication and technical support for craft based projects. These intertwined pursuits throw up questions about where the line is between the two. Their work wobbles that line by recontextualising low-status materials, like diamond plate and corrugated iron, challenging their embedded value and labour-narratives by relocating them in a fine art setting.
Coming from different creative disciplines, their collaborative process is intuitive, experimental and responsive. "We learn from one another through the process of collective making. By drawing on our very different skill sets and approaches, we are able to achieve things together that we couldn’t alone."

Miles Dunne (he/they) is an emerging multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans digital mediums, sculpture, installation, and live performance. In the initial years of their professional career, Dunne has delved into the intersection of digital programming and physical space, employing sculpture, light, and sound to explore themes shaped by his upbringing amidst rapid technological advancement.
