Christina Darras — Short Zebra Necklace
The Short Zebra Necklace is made from laser-cut perspex disks, designed and cut at the studio, and a silver part with an organic- imperfect tubular form and a silver clasp with the silver button logo. The Zebra Collection is inspired by the powerful visual impact of stripes, especially in nature. Not one necklace is identical; the same pool of colours in variations. It can be layered with the Long Zebra Necklace.
Christina Darras is an interdisciplanary artist besed in Melbourne Naarm. Through her practice, she explores the sentimental bond with jewellery, seeing it as part of one's life, keeping moments alive, and carrying a symbolic meaning. She employs colour as a building block, and she believes in its emotional solid value.
Darras holds a Masters of Contemporary Art at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne Postgraduate Diploma in Printmaking at Central St Martins College of Art and Design, London, UK Bachelor of Arts in Painting and Drawing at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France.
