Ulrica Trulsson

Ulrica Trulsson- 'Canister with Slip Texture I', 2023

$700

Inspired by the movement and patterns created by materials like clay, sand, and water. As well as the changing rhythms that transform the patterns, textures, and objects Trulsson encounters in the tidal landscape. These elements are temporarily stilled until the waves return, creating an evolving canvas.

Swedish-born artist Ulrica Trulsson began her studies in ceramics at Holmesglen in Melbourne in 2010. She later moved to Adelaide to undertake JamFactory’s renowned Associate Training Program, in 2012. Discovery of the world and of herself within it underpins Ulrica's practice, which is characterized by refined structural elements, intriguing glazed surfaces with shifting colours and textures, and a preference for utilitarian vessels. Using variations of shape to explore space and glazed surfaces as a kind of restrained adornment for bold forms, the components of Trulsson’s work come together as meditations upon the minutiae and grandeur of the natural world.
