Stuart Davidson — 'Alignment' Sculptural Bowl
This is a sculptural piece created with twisted multi-axis wood turning, emerging gracefully from a wooden-formed bowl.

Stuart Davidson is a furniture designer/maker based in Port Fairy/Dhauwurd Wurrung
Each piece is hand-turned from uniquely sourced Australian hardwoods, selected for their individual character and purpose. Using spindle gouges and skew chisels, Stuart shapes the form through light cuts and multi-axis transitions that reveal flowing contours and dynamic profiles.
Stuart explores the tension between control and surrender, using multi-axis woodturning to reflect the unpredictable rhythms of nature and the human experience. His work invites viewers to consider transformation, balance, and the quiet dialogue between material and maker.
Stuart was a finalist in Vivid Design awards in 2019 and was selected as Best Bespoke Design at Melbourne Fringe Furniture 2022
