Bobby Corica

Bobby Corica — Sandcast Stacker Band with Diamond

$2,750

Sandcast gold signet ring set with a diamond from jeweller Bobby Corica.

Bobby Corica (b. 1994) is a contemporary jeweller and visual artist born in Melbourne (Naarm), Australia and currently based in London. Practicing since 2020, his work draws from his studies in biochemistry and genetics, exploring aesthetics and themes of cellular structure and biological order. A coagulation of discrete elements to create a singular, consonant composition, the culmination of Bobby’s intuitive practice manifests in distinct objects by harnessing flame-work and gold & silversmithing.

Notably, The National Gallery of Victoria commissioned Bobby to make a series of works to accompany the garments for Alexander McQueen’s AW08 collection ‘The Girl Who Lived in a Tree’ as part of the 2022/2023 Alexander McQueen: Mind, Mythos, Muse summer show. Additionally, Bobby was awarded the Italian Australian Foundation Fellowship supported by the International Specialised Skills Institute, specialising in heritage material skills such as glass flame-working, leather-working, and furthering his gold & silversmithing skills.

Alongside his 6 year practice, Bobby worked with Linden Cook as a senior jeweller. In this role, his skills in casting cleanup, resizing, repairing, laser engraving, stone setting (flush & bead), and polishing were refined and reinforced.

His work has been exhibited in both Solo and Group exhibitions as part of NGV Design Week, Oigall Projects, JamFactory, and Craft Victoria and has been curated into design stores both nationally and internationally.
