Tom Summers — 'Threshold Vase' in Orange

This lurid orange vase has a vertical slit, or window, that runs through the centre's of the vase's length making it ideal vessel for interesting flower arrangement. The vase is treated with liquid quartz and waxed to ensure it is watertight.  Can be cleaned with warm water.

Tom Summers is a queer ceramic artist and product designer based in Brisbane, Meanjin. He makes hand built ceramic objects using lurid pigment-infused porcelain. Tom’s practice reflects a surreal and personal interpretation of the built environment. His work often incorporates recognisable architectural features and motifs, yet exists beyond the confines of time and place, seeming both futuristic and relic-like.
