Curtis Bloxsidge
Curtis Bloxsidge — 'Knitted Stool', 2026
The Knitted Stool is an expansion on previous collaborative work with 2am close, dissecting the relationship between textile and timber crafts. Geometric shapes are wrapped in knitted cotton ladders, using traditional tailoring methods, to prompt associations of natural forms.

Working between traditional handcraft and contemporary processes, Curtis' focus on natural materials to create bold, minimal pieces that are grounded, quiet, and enduring.
His work is informed by personal and sentimental histories with each piece approached not just as an object but also as a character, shaped by restraint, proportion, and touch. Curtis' designs draw subtle references from the natural world and classical furniture archetypes, distilled into reduced forms that feel both familiar and considered with emphasis placed on material honesty, surface, and shadow.
Curtis was the recipient of the 2025 VIVID Emerging Designer Awards: Winner in Lighting and the VIVID Emerging Designer Awards: Commendation Award in Furniture.
