Liam Fleming — 'Graft' Vase - HOLD
A hand blown Graft Vase by Liam Fleming.
The Graft Vase Series is made up of multiple mould blown cubic glass forms of varying sizes and colours that are seamlessly grafted in an off-set arrangement. Fleming adapts the ancient incalmo technique, which is traditionally employed to join distinct glass parts after heat to create a single continuous form. Fleming is interested in the colour theories of early twentieth-century artists and designers Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee and Piet Mondrian, and explore compositions of colour and form to visualise the tempo of music.
