Qianxun Li — 'Orange' Sculpture, 2024

In Fruit Series, Li deconstructs and reimagines the life forms of fruit as a process of exploring the contrasts and interactions between materials, revealing the fascinating complexity of organic structures. The works combine Shibuichi metal and oiled paper to recreate the organic shapes of fruit peels and flesh. The metallic “skin” showcases the protective nature and delicate textures of the peel, while the paper captures the hidden traces and ephemeral qualities of the flesh.
