Leisa Wharington — 'The Branch' Wall Light, 2024

$9,000
Intertwined twigs and branches create a place in the natural world, with small attachments—seeds or nuts—growing off twisted, knobbly branches. Whether it's barnacles clinging to the cracks in seabed rock or organic growth in a garden, the natural world is ever-present in my work. Through the essential act of gathering around a fire, sharing food, and passing on folklore, I aim to capture the deep-rooted traditions that are embedded in our souls.

Leisa Wharington has been a glassblower on the Mornington Peninsula for more than 30 years, with a loyal following and presence in the area. Over the past ten years Leisa has morphed from primarily creating utilitarian wares for the home into lighting, specifically custom chandeliers, wall lights and pendants.
