Roseanne Bartley – 'Ohh Ahh', Neckpiece, 2024
"I am drawn to the aesthetic and poetic qualities of jewellery, particularly how it serves as a subtle yet powerful agent within human communication."
As a wearable accessory Dymond observes that jewellery transcends its materiality, offering personal expression while fostering cultural and social connections. Ohhahh explores these qualities through an alphabetic proposition-a wearable typography that explores the relationship between language, symbol, and adornment. This approach highlights the primal links between human utterance, writing systems, and the act of wearing jewellery. By integrating these elements, Ohhahh invites us to view jewellery not only as a form of decoration but as a dynamic medium of communication, bridging the ancient with the modern and the personal with the collective.
