Slip cast vessels using that appear rough and irregular. “Each piece shows a rocky surface that reflects the times in which we live.” While other smooth forms reveal a different way of making showing curves like a large river stone being washed and gradually cleansed and shaped by the waters.

Christopher Plumridge studied ceramics in Bendigo in the late seventies. His work combines the hands on skills learned and developed over forty years from the traditions of the cultures of Japan, England, China and Australia where his ceramics teachers originated. His commercial work is extensive with functional pieces for restaurant and cafe use to sculptured forms with glazes that have been constantly reformulated over time.
