Georgina Proud — 'Fluorescence' Sculptural Vessel

$600
This work is made using a combination of wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. Found materials such as sea glass, seeds and rocks are embedded in the clay to create a unique surface texture. It is water tight and can be hand washed in warm water.

Georgina Proud is a ceramic artist based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her practice focuses on materiality, creating experimental ceramic vessels with inclusions of glass and other found materials. Her work investigates how these materials react to the ceramic and firing processes, combining them with a variety of high fired clay bodies and glazes. She works primarily with wheel-thrown forms exploring methods of collage and assemblage to create distinct sculptural vessels.

Proud completed a Shiro Oni Residency in Onishi, Japan, 2019.
