Alexandra Howie is a ceramic artist based in Melbourne/Naarm. Alexandra uses clay as her primary medium—creating hand built, sculptural vases. She is driven by a fascination with the materiality of clay and its potential to evoke movement and mimicry. Her process is as much about intuition and spontaneity as it is about technical skill. In her latest pieces, she delves into themes of drapery, masking, and the nuances of perception, crafting functional vases that invite viewers to consider what is hidden and what is revealed.
