Studio Dokola
Studio Dokola – 'Koloman' Highball Glass in Clear
In form, technology and appearance these works reference the Modernist pre-cursors of Art Deco - the Wiener Werksätte. A production co-operative founded on the aims to produce objects embodying good design, excellent craftsmanship and high-quality materials. The Wiener Werkstätte's commitment to Gesamtkunstwerk, elevation of craft processes and use of industrial applications have all been fostered within this work.

Reaching back to find provocative period styles, we recycle visual ideas of the past into tableware for new markets. Embracing the dynamic meaning of the word DOKOLA as a concept for objects - Dokola (Doh – kol – ah) can be simplified to mean around & around. Like turning a glassblowing pipe, recycling glass, or the resurgence of a past trend today. We consider this nutshell definition when thinking about designing, process, cyclic values, and trends.
