Just Adele

Just Adele — 'Terra 03' Plinth, 2024

$3,600

Often, when we think of folklore, our minds conjure the scene of deep, dark woods. A constant back-drop to stories set where the mortal world thins into the realm of Faerie and where creatures unseen lurk in the shadows. Just Adele’s hammered plinths are suffused with the spirit of those woods. Hand-carved from solid timber.

Crafted from walnut and blackened solid timber, each plinth continues the material exploration the studio is renowned for, presenting timber in a way that is compositionally architectural yet cloaked in the texture of enchanted. A marker signalling the way to safety or a totem upon which a treasure is placed, each one rises from the ground, evoking a sense of growth and connection to the forest. Each plinth celebrates the craftsmanship and origin of the wood from which they are shaped while presenting a striking contrast between their clean geometric lines and the organic texture of the ham-mered timber, reminding us of the towering trees they once were.

Established by Adele Vine in 2019, Just Adele is a design practice dedicated to creating furniture and objects of natural and sustainable eminence. Reconciling the classical beauty of natural stone with complimentary materials and modern form and function, the studio harnesses a holistic approach to design that spans considered refinement to bespoke re-imagination. From tables and plinths to objects, mirrors and consoles, Just Adele bins the monolithic and sculptural archetypes of Italy's artisanal past with the spirit of the present to craft pieces that sit as effortlessly in a home as they do in a commercial or gallery space.

Each Just Adele piece carries the essence of enduring tradition alongside striking material expressions to cultivate something entirely specilised within the architecture and design landscape.
