$250
Pink flame box elder, wood salvaged from Clifton Hill Daycare in Melbourne. Dried flower vase, finished with microcrystalline wax.

Charlotte Litteck is a British-born wood artist working from her home studio based in Melbourne/Naarm.

Sourcing a variety of species, she selects timbers to highlight their unique properties, often featuring bark inclusions, voids and insect damage to connect the pieces back to nature. Her focus is on exploring form both through turning and carving. She seeks to accentuate the wood grain both in the shaping of the piece and through the finishes she selects, including charring. In sculpture she explores fluid forms, informed by nature and is drawn to asymmetry. Her pieces are designed to be tactile and invite touch.

She studied furniture making at Melbourne Guild of Fine Woodworking, turning with Andrew Potocnik and carving with Hape Kiddle.
