Timothy White is a ceramicist based on Wadawurrung and Bunurong Country in Melbourne's West. His practice began with an interest in the potential and uncertainty of the outcome. Beginning with stoneware clays he has progressed to working solely with porcelain, using wheel throwing techniques to build his forms. His pieces are hand finished in lustrous and colourful glazes which he carefully develops in house to produce one-of-a-kind pieces.
White has exhibited widely, and his work is held in numerous private collections in Australia and overseas. He was selected as a finalist in the recent Victorian Craft Awards and the North Queensland Ceramic Award. White studied a Diploma of Art and Design (Ceramics) at Victoria College, 1982 and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Art and Craft) at Victoria College, 1985.
