Teegan Horat – 'Short Lemel Earrings'

$100

Earrings made with reclaimed studio metal that glitters in the light. The enamel which holds the 'studio glitter' in place is most often used in industrial applications such as road signs, bathtubs, and enamel cookware. Together these materials invite us to consider the relationship between the industrial world and craft.

Teegan Horat is an artist and jeweller based in Melbourne/Naarm. Alongside traditional jewellery making methods, she eagerly incorporate glass in her work, through the techniques of casting, lamp-working and enamelling.

Her work explores memory and sentimentality through surface, with an interest in the intimate, often overlooked moments and places that appear in our lives - the small, daily rituals we take pleasure in and the places we keep in our hearts. In 2024, she received the Craft Victoria Fresh! Fellowship and Radiant Pavilion Creative Production Mentorship.
