Annie Paxton

Annie Paxton — 'Form VIII' Plinth, 2024

$4,800
Vestiges of form - the remnants of making. How the remnants form, the latent possibilities of process.

Form VII continues the material exploration of the vestige series - forms that seek to explore the in between, the underside, the means of making. They ask: how can the process have a voice in the product?

Crafted from old cast aluminium works from 2022 and offcuts of sheet aluminium, the FORM VII table sits as a reassemblage of production relics - stacked and blended to form a whole that is in part an awry ensemble; in part a unified assemblage.

Annie Paxton is a Naarm (Melbourne) based multidisciplinary designer. She works as an architect alongside her creative practice which seeks to navigate the juncture between architecture and furniture/object, with a keen interest in how design drives and is driven by the poetics of everyday life. With the tendency to imbue works with patina and the trace of the hand, the interrogation of time/process as a material is often a salient driver in her practice.
