Tara Lofhelm is a Melbourne based jeweller. Originally studying at the Northern Metropolitan Institute of TAFE (NMIT), and completing an Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Jewellery) in 2008, Tara works primarily in silver. Her most recent body of work explores the repetition of line, and the meditative effect conjured by this repetitive work. The pieces are hand stamped, blow by blow, and the shapes form as a reaction to the making process. This technique of hand embellishment ensures these each piece is entirely unique. Demonstrating the hand of the maker, they preserve a definitive, singular moment in time.
