Taë Schmeisser — Porous Necklace in Oxidised Silver and 18ct Yellow Gold
Taë Schmeisser has been exhibiting as a jeweller since 2002. Beginning her studies in Visual Arts at the Australian National University, with a focus on glass, Taë has over time garnered additional skills in jewellery making and ceramics, which together have seen her undertake study at both Toyama Institute of Glass Art (TIGA) and Kyoto Seika University, later winning the e.g. etal Graduate Award in 2008, and receiving the opportunity to be the Artist in Residence at The Skopelos Art Foundation (Skopart), Greece.
Taë’s collections at Craft Victoria showcase her natural and responsive engagement with precious metals, with playful pieces of silver, oxidised silver, and gold.
