Simone Karras — Vessel in Raku with Clear Glaze
Simone Karras is a Melbourne-based ceramicist who has been practising for over 20 years. She employs a mix of hand-building techniques to create pieces that explore texture and scale.
The appealing minimalism of Simone's vessels can sometimes belie the complexity that goes into creating them; each one having been painstakingly crafted using a coiling technique. This approach permits Simone to organically shape the contours and character of each piece. Their iconic shape is perfect for ikebana arrangements and Simone is well known for her collaborations with florist Hattie Molloy.
There’s a much larger selection of Simone’s work inshore at Craft — so if you would like to see a broader selection stop by or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll send you a full list of all works available.
