The relationship between an artist and a curator can be a powerful thing - a collaborative relationship unlike any other.

Join Myf Doughty, independent curator and researcher, and former Curator of Contemporary Design and Architecture, NGV for a 1-hr online lecture looking at the role of curators and how they relate to you and your practice.

This session will be insightful to those who have a craft practice and wish to learn more about how to collaborate and exhibit their work.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session.

Myf Doughty is an independent curator and researcher with a background in craft, design, and education. She has contributed to publications and exhibitions locally and internationally. As former Curator of Contemporary Design and Architecture at the NGV, Myf contributed to the delivery of NGV Triennial 2017 and 2020, permanent collection displays, and major programs including the Australian Furniture Design Award, NGV Architecture Commision, and Melbourne Design Week (2017–2022). She holds a Bachelor of Design from the University of New South Wales, a Master of Teaching from Deakin University, and is a PhD candidate at Monash University faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. Her research focuses on how blending research, design and curatorial practices can offer new ways to understand what happens inside public art and design galleries.
