Ceramicist Sandra Bowkett has worked with clay for over 35 years, first studying in Victoria in the seventies. She has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions both locally and overseas and has most recently completed a residency in India as part of the Australian Council of the Arts Asia link program. Her range of vessels and bowls are hand built using fine porcelain and stoneware clays to which she applies a limited palette of slips and metal oxides. Fascinated by clay's ability to recall the maker's touch, the graceful lines of her vessels reveal the patient hands behind their creation. Sandra works from her Tallarook studio with a beautiful rural Victorian bush view.
