Marcel Hoogstad Hay — Black Glass 'Shift' Vase

Marcel Hoogstad Hay is an Australian artist and designer working primarily with blown glass. He received his Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2012 from the Glass Workshop at the ANU School of Art in Canberra and in 2014 completed the two-year Associate Training Program at Jam Factory Contemporary Craft and Design in Adelaide.

Marcel draws from traditional Venetian cane techniques in a lot of his work, exploring and creating complex patterns and optical effects in glass. In his product design practice, he works with the principles of simplicity and ergonomics to create elegant, utilitarian objects.
