Crafted by hand, each Secret Sharer is made from carefully selected Australian timber by Louiseann and Kristian King in Eganstown, Victoria. Existing as both sculpture and container, this series has been created to contain significant objects of adornment from rings and brooches to cufflinks. Receiving her doctorate in 2006, Louiseann King has an extensive making, exhibiting and curating background. She has exhibited for 20 years in solo and curated exhibitions, including major solo exhibitions at Craft Victoria and Object. Her work explores issues pertaining to the environment, time, memory, ritual and making and is held in prominent private and public art collections including Bendigo Art Gallery, Latrobe Regional Art Gallery, Wangaratta Art Gallery and RMIT Gallery. Kristian King is a Master Craftsman - a bespoke furniture designer and maker for over 25 years. He has designed and made Ceremonial Furniture for a number of universities including The University of Melbourne and Macquarie University, alongside significant commissions for private collectors and institutions. Kristian is passionate about Australian timbers, design, technique and making work that will stand the test of time.
