Born in Denmark and originally studying at the Kolding School of Arts & Crafts in the 70's before moving to Australia in 1985, Victorian potter Lene Kuhl Jakobsen has a rich practice, exhibiting in numerous exhibitions both in Australia and overseas.
Skillfully throwing all her work on the pottery wheel Lene combines the natural simplicity of the pot shaped by the hands with the restraint use of decoration. She balances the use of tactile effects and additions with the application of satiny glaze finishes in order to enhance the shape of each piece.
