Lene Kuhl Jakobsen

Lene Kuhl Jakobsen — Small Horizon Vessel in

$66

The Horizon Series are named in reference to their coloured and striped finishes. Purposefully created in muted tones to evoke memories of twilight and dusk, looking towards the horizon. This effect is produced through a glaze-dipping method which allows the glazes to overlap and interact during the firing process Ð producing new shades and a striped effect.

Lene Kuhl Jakobsen is a ceramic artist living and working in Naarm/Melbourne. She produces vessel based and sculptural pieces through techniques of wheel throwing and hand building. Drawing inspiration from both her current Australian environment and Scandinavian background she creates shapes of restrained simplicity using a range of clays with varying glazing finishes.

Jakobsen has exhibited in numerous selected group and solo exhibition since 1992 in both Australia and overseas and has had work in private and public collections. Jakobsen studied and worked in Denmark and Norway for 9 years before moving to Australia.
