This sculptural vessel is wheel thrown and altered before, slip, stones,
seeds, shards of broken pottery, and sea glass are then added to the form
to create a unique texture. Each element reacts differently in the firing
process melting, burning out or vitrifying.

This vessel is watertight and perfect used as a vase for flowers.

Georgina Proud is a ceramic artist based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her practice focuses on materiality, creating experimental ceramic vessels with inclusions of glass and other found materials. Her work investigates how these materials react to the ceramic and firing processes, combining them with a variety of high fired clay bodies and glazes. She works primarily with wheel-thrown forms exploring methods of collage and assemblage to create distinct sculptural vessels.

Proud completed a Shiro Oni Residency in Onishi, Japan, 2019.
