Regarded as a pioneer in the evolution of mosaic as a contemporary art form, Marzi’s influence is evident in the work’s dynamic surface and sculptural presence. Raphy has drawn on these methods for this work as a tribute to both the transformative experience of studying with Marzi and the sense of possibility his practice inspires.

—

Raphy is a ceramic artist and mosaicist from Melbourne Australia who combines ancient craft with contemporary storytelling.
