Ella Bendrups — Tall 'Calliope' Sculptural Vase in White

The Calliope Series are a modern interpretation of ancient Greek forms. The series consists of single handled faceted bottle made from white raku clay. The clay has been treated with a liquid Quartz sealer making the vessel ideal for use as an art object or vase. Please Note it is recommended that ceramic pieces are placed on a trivet or runner to protect surfaces from potential damage, especially when being used as a vase.

Ella Bendrups is a ceramic artist based in Naarm/Melbourne. Through her practice she explores ancient clay and stone artefacts and their ability to transcend the times and cultures in which they were created. Her works embrace the expressive nature of hand building, pinching, coiling, carving and hammering clay to highlight the maker's touch. Commissions and limited series are created in a small home studio with each piece resulting in an innate form refined for the modern context.

Bendrups has participated in exhibitions in Victoria and New South Wales. She has a background in styling and has completed a Bachelor of Communication Design, RMIT, 2010, and a Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration at RMIT, 2013.
