Stitching Time was held at Craft from 17 October - 30 November featuring a collection of collaborations curated by Dell Stewart andIsobel Knowles exploring the relationship between textiles and animation. Artists included Jeremy Dower, Pene Durston, Rebecca Hayes, Isobel Knowles, Kate Matthews, Dell Stewart, Kayo Taguchi, Maryann Talia-Pau, Pauline Tran-Cecil and Harvest Textiles.
Penelope Durston is a prolific textile designer and weaver, she is also the founder and owner of Cottage Industry, an iconic Melbourne store located in Fitzroy catering to all our textile and craft needs. True to its name, Cottage Industry focuses on traditional craft techniques and often works with recycled fabrics.
Rebecca Hayes is best known as part of The Sisters Hayes. The trio create work that is narrative driven, handcrafted, theatrical and materially beautiful, using collective skills in painting, costume & set design, animation, film & photography the familial group make diverse collaborative works.
