Dear Plastic — Paper Hanging Sculpture
Dear Plastic is a collaboration between Yumi and Masahiro (Taka). Yumi was brought up in Australia with Australian and Japanese nationality. Masahiro grew up in Japan and has been a resident in Australia since 2006.
Together they create large paper installations, small miniature worlds and hanging mobiles out of hand painted watercolour paper. Their work is based on nature and the relationship shared with the natural world. It is based on Japanese Shintoism where everything contains a God or Spirit.
Yumi and Masahiro have from these ideas, created their own language of symbols and forms.
This paper sculpture can be suspended from the ceiling or fixed to a wall.
Materials: hand dyed and cut paper.
