Born and raised in Canada, Dawn Vachon trained in ceramics at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver. Moving to Melbourne and re-locating her studio, Dawn has a committed practice making high fired and pigmented stoneware.
Working tirelessly to refine her skills and to create a distinct language of object, Dawn has developed a signature technique of working with slab building, creating objects of poetic colour, whilst maintaining a painterly sense of composition.
Experimenting regularly, Dawn evolves the forms and construction of her work, with her distinct palate connecting old forms to new.
