Brenden Scott French — Palette
In many respects Brenden Scott French has an oblique relationship to the landscape. Rather than directly referencing the phenomenological experiences of being in or navigating through nature, Scott French is drawn to the ways in which we perceive our natural world. Through his artwork he challenges our understanding and the mythologies we have created regarding the way we attribute value to the landscape, highlighting how this attribution is inherently a political, social, and cultural construct.
