Alexi Freeman x Kate Rohde mesh bangles were created collaboratively for Freeman's SPHERE collection− first shown at the SS15/16 runway at Melbourne Fashion week. Made from polyurethane resin and hundreds of gunmetal and silver plated jjump rings, this series responds to the collection's strong use of geometric patterning and lame accents.

Alexi Freeman began his creative journey as an artist in Hobart, attending the University of Tasmania majoring in printmaking and sculpture. He then continued to hone his aesthetic in New York, developing his practice bridging art, fashion and costume, before returning to Melbourne to launch his eponymous fashion label (est. 2006). Since then Freeman’s fierce determination and creative energy combined with his nous for business have created a strong platform from which his brand continues to grow.

Kate Rohde is known for her jewellery and object based practice, working predominantly with resin to construct often elaborate and baroque forms which draw from botanical, zoological and geological  sources. Rohde’s exhibitions include but are not limited to Golden Age (2015 Pieces of Eight, Melbourne); Atlantis (2012, Melbourne Art Fair, Karen Woodbury Gallery stand, Melbourne); 21st Century Heide (2015, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Victoria). Rohde was also a Finalist in the 2015 Rigg Design Prize at National Gallery of Victoria.
