Sandra Bowkett — Wood Fired Stoneware Mug

Sandra Bowkett is a potter based near Tallarook/Taungurung Country. Her work subtly reflects the place in which it is made and fired through exploration of materials and processes. Completing an artist residency in India led Bowkett to reshape her practice, adapting a different approach of making on the wheel and a focus on wood-firing, utilising her local fallen timber. With a focus on functionality, she produces useful objects that are high fired for durability and sensibility.

Bowkett completed a Diploma of Design (Ceramics) at Monash in the 1970s and an Asialink artist residency in Kumhaargram, New Dehli, 2012.
