Georgina Proud — Tear Vessel 3 with Seaglass

A small spherical vessel with an organically formed opening. The vessel features various intentional holes and tears and is finished in a striking experimental glaze.

Georgina Proud is a ceramic artist based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her practice focuses on materiality, creating experimental ceramic vessels with inclusions of glass and other found materials. Her work investigates how these materials react to the ceramic and firing processes, combining them with a variety of high fired clay bodies and glazes. She works primarily with wheel-thrown forms exploring methods of collage and assemblage to create distinct sculptural vessels.

Proud completed a Shiro Oni Residency in Onishi, Japan, 2019.
