Clae Studio — Mountain Vessel (blue)

A blue sculptural vessel with a curved top edge that features an opening at its peak. Inspired by undulating mountain ranges and the grounding feeling of being enveloped by nature. Influenced by french artist Yves Klein, the vivid blue colour acts as a bold reminder to reflect upon the wisdom of nature. This vessel was part of the group exhibition 'Shaped', 2022.

Clae Studio is the project of artist Britt Neech, based on the Mornington Peninsula. Her sculptural and playful pieces reference art, history and nature. Using minimalistic forms, she creates each piece by hand with careful consideration to the textures and colours of the clay showcasing the intrinsic beauty of the material.

Neech participated in the group exhibitions 'Shaped' and 'Clay Connected' at Craft Victoria, as well as her solo exhibition 'Finding Form' at the Michael Reid Clay Gallery, NSW. She also has selected pieces in the NGV and AGWA design stores.
